In 1986 Bavarian Motor Works changed the landscape of sports/luxury vehicles with the E30 M3. Naturally, you might ask yourself what a guy born in 1995 knows about a rich legacy like that of BMW. I asked my older brother Marlon a similar question when he received a 1987 E28 535is from one of our eldest brothers Levar as his first car. He showed me the answer under the hood, most likely the same way Levar showed him. I probably don’t have to explain to the fascination I had with that classic BMW Inline-six. I’d be surprised if you haven’t once been caught by that same wonder.
Within the same year, my cousin Fabian who lived with us picked up an E30 and a couple oil spots on the driveway later, we were forced to become pretty knowledgeable about these sporty sedans. Pops always kept us supplied with tools and Mama always motivated us to keep her driveway oil-free. Since then, we’ve just become engulfed in the BMW ecosystem; 8 years later and my own driveway is now home to an E90 330i. Braelyn (my E90) is one of the final high performance, naturally aspirated 3 series Bimmers. And I’ll be the first to admit I’ve got much more to learn, but with such a captivating piece of machinery to study I’ve never been so excited about education. If you spend most of your free time tinkering with your Bimmer or snapping pictures of that rear-wheel beauty, you’ll fit right in here.
